Wood Floor Refinishing & Maintenance in Amarillo, TX

Hardwood floor owners know the frustration of dealing with scratches, scuffs, and dull and lifelessness. These little imperfections can come from all sorts of everyday activities—like shoe traffic, moving furniture, or the playful antics of our furry friends. But if we let those marks go untouched for too long, age and wear become apparent.

That’s where we step in.

At Amarillo DryCarpet, we’re not just about fixing floors; we’re about restoring the heart of your home. Let us work our magic with professional cleaning, buffing, and restoration services that breathe new life into your hardwood floors, making them shine like new and hiding those pesky scratches with a personal touch!

Amarillo Hardwood Floor Maintenance Experts

Hardwood floors are well-known for being timeless, bringing a sense of beauty and sophistication to any area. This makes them a top choice for homeowners who want to elevate the appearance of their living spaces. However, hardwood floor owners must work to maintain them which takes diligence and care. Without appropriate protection and routine maintenance, repairing hardwood floors can be extremely expensive. As with any other significant investment in your home, taking a proactive approach in preserving the integrity of your hardwood floors can help prevent extensive damage and ensure their longevity.

We can work wonders on hardwood flooring. NO SANDING REQUIRED. Our process also works for vinyl, tile, cork, and bamboo floors

Our Hardwood Floor Services

Save Your Floors Before Having to Spend Thousands on a Complete Sanding

Keeping your hardwood floors looking their best can be a challenge, especially here in the Texas Panhandle. Entryways are one of the biggest victims and can take a real beating, gathering up dirt, sand, and water, which can leave some pretty obvious wear and tear. Even in some of the quieter areas of your home or business, regular foot traffic can start to dull down those beautiful floors. That’s why it’s a good idea to have them professionally cared for to help keep them shining bright!

Wood Floor Refinishing

Obvious signs of wear and tear mean it’s time to get your hardwood floors cleaned, buffed, and polished by Amarillo DryCarpet to prevent future damage that could be irreversible. We recommend recoating your hardwood every three to five (3-5) years depending on the amount of foot traffic the specific area receives. Call us today and keep your floors in their best condition!

We implement a meticulous process using state-of-the-art cleaning products and methods. First, we prep the area before starting on a three-step regimen: cleaning, rinsing, and polishing your floor. Our equipment ensures thorough removal and containment of all dirt and grime. Following this, we apply a neutralizer to restore the wood’s pH balance and provide an additional cleaning pass. Lastly, we apply a gloss or satin finish to restore the hardwood floor’s shine.

Cleaning & Buffing

For many hardwood floor owners, the dream is to maintain that beautiful, shining floor day in, and day out. Sadly, years of foot traffic tend to embed dirt and grime into the surface, leaving it looking lackluster. But fear not! If your floors only suffer from surface scratches and the finish and wood underneath are still in good condition. A gentle cleaning and buffing service can work wonders in restoring their former glory.

When it comes to hardwood floor cleaning and buffing, having the right tools is key. With our comprehensive clean and buff method, we’re equipped to effectively eliminate dirt and grime, breathing new life into your floors in no time. We’d be thrilled to arrange a visit and provide a thorough assessment of your floors.

Screen & Recoat

If your hardwood floors are showing light surface imperfections and scratches, our screen and recoat service might just be the ticket to their revival, especially if they’ve lost the attractive luster they once did. Our screen and recoat process targets those superficial scratches that have worn down the surface layer of your hardwood floors. However, it’s important to note that our service doesn’t address scratches that penetrate deeper into the wood, although our color correction (see below) could make a drastic difference.

We like to refer to this as our sandless refinishing service, as it eliminates the need for floor sanding. During the recoating process, we apply two additional protective layers of commercial-grade polyurethane. Depending on your lifestyle and foot traffic, these added layers can keep your floors looking fresh for anywhere between 3 to 5 years. Not only does this provide extra protection, but it also enhances the floor’s appearance with a delightful sheen. Our refinishing options come in matte, satin, semi-gloss, and gloss finishes.

If you’re unsure about the extent of the scratches on your floors, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re more than happy to schedule a visit, assess your floors, and discuss the best options for restoring their charm.

Screening & Recoating VS. Full Sanding

Sanding hardwood floors can be a time-consuming process that puts your space out of commission for days, but with our screening and recoating service, we can get everything done and ready to go in just one day. This means minimal disruption to your routine and faster turnaround time. Our screen and recoat option is also incredibly cost-effective, where, in contrast, sanding can be significantly more expensive. While a screen and recoat is priced at about $2 per square foot, a complete sanding can range from $5 to $10 per square foot, depending on various factors such as the condition of the floors and the extent of the work needed.

Wax Removal

Our wax removal service for wood floors is just what you need if you’re aiming to clear away wax buildup and bring back the beauty of your hardwood floors. Using off-the-shelf wax, oil, or acrylic-based cleaners and rejuvenators can gradually darken and detract from the appeal of your floors over time. Unfortunately, many of these retail treatments leave behind a stubborn residue that accumulates heavily.

This residue becomes a magnet for dirt, grime, and bacteria, gradually darkening the floors and leaving them vulnerable to scratches and stains, but Amarillo DryCarpet & Cleaning Services has the perfect solution.

Not only do we remove wax buildup, but we also conduct a thorough cleaning of your floors. For floors burdened with years of wax and residue buildup, we highly recommend considering a screening and recoating once the wax is gone. This is because the process of removing years’ worth of buildup may require a more aggressive approach, potentially leaving your floors looking cloudy and lacking in sheen. We understand the importance of your floors to the value of your home.

It’s hard to find a business that really does specialize in both.
Kelly was very responsive and knowledgeable. He and his team arrived on time and did a very good job. I’d def. use them again. It’s worth noting that Kelly’s team cleaned both our carpets and our hardwood flooring. It’s hard to find a business that really does specialize in both. I appreciate the work and his kindness.
